Can professional development in humanized online teaching be scaled across institutions while preserving changes in instructor mindsets and instructional practice?
Why it matters
Online STEM courses can reproduce or widen equity gaps when students experience low connection and limited support. Scalable faculty development can improve course climate and teaching practice across systems rather than in isolated classrooms.
About the project
Positive findings from the original intervention supported expansion of the Academy to additional California Community Colleges and California State Universities.
